  • LCA of Aluminum Beverage Cans – Developed a cradle-to-gate LCA of three sizes of aluminum beverage cans (330mL, 500mL, and 12oz) manufactured in 15 locations in North America, South America, and Europe. Provided results by manufacturing plant, can size, and by region, aiding ASI certification.

  • Comparative LCAs - Critically reviewed comparative cradle-to-grave LCA of thermoelectric cooling food totes with traditional reach-in refrigerators and freezers. Provided results for a range of indicators, and performed scenario analyses for recycled content, product operation hours, and product lifetime, aiding client’s understanding of hotspots and break-even points with competitors.

  • Whole Building LCAs - Developed numerous A1-A3 whole building LCAs for warehouses and prospective neighborhoods, aiding sustainability certifications and public planning applications in the UK.

  • Fleet Electrification Assessments – Developed an assessment for a renewable energy generator to calculate the potential benefit of electrifying their entire vehicle fleet. Presented results aligned with their current Scope 1, 2, and 3 inventory to show potential differences and reductions.

Key Project Experience:

Life Cycle Assessment

  • Dynamic LCA Tools – Developed several dynamic cradle-to-gate LCA tools for clients with wide product ranges. The tools allowed the clients to see which ingredients and suppliers were hotpots in the product footprints, and test new product ingredient and manufacturing scenarios.

  • LCA of Carbon Black – Critically reviewed cradle-to-gate LCA of carbon black, manufactured by a leading producer in 16 locations globally. Provided results by manufacturing plant and as an average product. Showed the impact of different feedstocks on the product footprint.

Sector Experience:

Consumer products, personal care, building and construction materials, metals, carbon black, and agricultural products.
