Third-party review for LCA, EPD & carbon footprint results

Independent technical review of life cycle assessments, environmental product declarations, and product carbon footprints — checked against ISO 14044, ISO 14071, and ISO 14067, and the verification rules of major EPD program operators.

  • LCA critical review — panel or individual reviewer
  • EPD verification against program operator rules
  • Product carbon footprint verification (ISO 14067)

This is a technical review of your calculations and methodology — a separate service from GHG inventory assurance.

John Beath is CEO and Founder of JBE and one of JBE's third-party reviewers. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and brings more than 40 years of experience in carbon management, environmental compliance, and refinery process engineering. His LCA methodology work includes developing the analysis that demonstrated the environmental benefit of a U.S. commercial-scale carbon capture project, leading a refinery-wide feasibility study of GHG reduction options, and publishing a methodology for comparing the carbon footprint of electric and combustion-engine vehicles. He has presented and published widely through the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA), where he also serves as a volunteer Board of Directors member and Membership Committee Co-Chair, and he developed a compliance-assurance process later adopted by three of the largest oil companies worldwide.

Sevda Rosenbaum is LCA Practice Lead at JBE and one of JBE's third-party reviewers. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources from Villanova University, and brings 10+ years of experience in life cycle assessment across forest products, wood-based bioenergy, biosolids management, flooring, tiles, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals. Her work includes developing industry-wide cradle-to-gate life cycle inventory data for engineered wood products, leading third-party verified LCA and EPD development for hardwood flooring, CLT, and glulam, and serving as principal investigator on the LCA methodology that formed the basis for the first wooden pallet product category rule. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production and Environmental Science and Technology, on topics ranging from urban wood utilization to exergy-based resource use assessment.
